Sustainability

As a dynamic and aware IT support company, we recognise that our business activities have an environmental impact, and that we are only a small cog in the lifecycle of most IT installations. We understand that our actions affect not only our footprint, but also that of those who depend on our services.

Environmental awareness plays a key part in all facets of our business. Our HQ was designed in consultation with the Carbon Trust to install the most efficient combination of lighting, heating and cooling. The building conforms to the most stringent insulation requirements and the office areas benefit from a novel natural day-light solution.

Throughout the normal operations of the business, energy and water use is continuously monitored, and the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) are taken far beyond the typical association with business waste and applied as a normal business practice in places like the end-to-end spares management where items are repaired and reintegrated wherever possible.

The environmental consequences of moving employees and materials to service our global business is never underestimated. An active program of replacing our car fleet with only the most efficient variants is well underway, wherever possible IP conference bridges are used to avoid travel to meetings.  This is overshadowed by our initiative to minimise just-in-time spares shipping around the world from our Logistics Centre, with strategically located spares depots so that movements are mitigated and controlled. This process is further reinforced by technical triaging of all service calls to ensure the correct spare is dispatched the first time.

In our Good to Great message, this policy is communicated throughout the business and employees are recognised for any environmentally beneficial initiatives.

 

Integrity

In all of our business operations we recognise that trust and integrity are essential qualities. We strive to not only build this with our customers and suppliers as a company, but also at all levels of our daily interaction as individuals.

The most effective way to gain and keep people’s trust is the ESP Way! To comply with our own policies and standards and to behave in keeping with our own Code of Conduct.  To provide a level of services to our customers that continuously surpasses their expectations.  To do business with integrity and value our customers and suppliers equally.

Integrity, for ESP, means fulfilling our responsibilities in accordance with the values embodied in the ESP Way. It means that we are accountable for our actions as individuals and for effect we have on our customers, our suppliers, our colleagues and ESP as an organisation.

Having high levels of integrity in business has implications in a number of different areas.

Anti-Corruption and Bribery

It is our policy to conduct all of our business in an honest and ethical manner. We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption.  We are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships wherever we operate and implementing and enforcing effective systems to counter bribery.

As part of our approach we do not make or receive contributions of any kind with the purpose of gaining any commercial advantage or provide gifts or hospitality with the intention of persuading anyone to act improperly.
