Airport Engineer, Manchester 12month contract

ESP Global Services are currently recruiting an Airport Engineer to join Manchester Airport on a 12month contract (potential to extend).  Reporting to the Field Operations Manager North in the interim. You will work as part of the ESP Global Services team to provide on-site support for all components of the airport passenger processing system within agreed contractual SLAs at Manchester Airport.

What does the role of Airport Engineer involve?

  • Carry out regular routine and preventative maintenance on the range of passenger processing equipment within the airport.
  • Respond to all customer incidents and service requests passed across by the Global Service Desk and resolve any user faults within agreed SLAs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all airline host and connectivity issues
  • Maintain a high level of communication at all times with both colleagues and senior members of staff, provide timely updates to the Global Service Desk so that progress against each individual incident can be updated as required.
  • Resolve any issues escalated in a timely manner to ensure that customer SLAs can still be met.
  • Identify any spares required and advise the Global Service Desk accordingly to ensure that the customer incident can be updated accordingly.
  • Carry out regular "floor-walking" and pro-active line of sight checks to identify and resolve any issues before they are raised as incidents through the Global Service Desk.               

Please note- as the role is based on site at an airport, upon job offer it is necessary for ESP to carry out background checks which include; 5 year working history background check and confirmation that individual has resided consistently in the *UK* for 5 years. What Competencies/ previous experience do you need to have to be considered for the role of Airport Engineer?

  • Good knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Desktop software, printer technology, ability to troubleshoot/ resolve network issues
  • Previous experience of working “hands on” in IT
  • Understanding of Microsoft 2017
  • Confident communicator with the ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • An understanding of network protocols, server hardware and configurations or other IT qualifications
  • Previous IT support experience 
  • Full Driving License 

Hours

Once airside clearance is obtained and training is completed this role will be working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off between the hours of 4am – 6pm.
