We ESP are looking to recruit a "hands on" IT Manager to join our Head Office in Reading.  Reporting to our Operations Director you will lead a team of 10 staff covering all aspects of internal and some external IT support.

What does the role of IT Manager involve?

  • Manage and monitor the IT Infrastructure
  • Support both Internal and external client and business partners, Identifying critical issues and the resulting solutions
  • Ensure ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures and support and meet SLA's, day to day management of hosting, network and security incidents and situations
  • Responsibility to ensure the disaster recovery and business continuity subset and maintained and regularly reviewed
  • Assist in developing the strategy for ESP's IT Infrastructure for the future
  • Responsibility for recruitment, development, motivation and retention of staff, complying with budgetary and personnel policies.
  • Responsibility for real-time performance and Integrity of hosting and network platforms and overseeing all configuration changes related to physical hosting and network elements.
  • Setting up and Management of the Network Operation Centre/Operations control Centre
  • Responsibility for maintaining the IT based ISO certifications for the business, currently ISO 27001, ISO20,000. The role may also require that any new ISO accreditation’s relating to IT that become business requirements will be owned from initiation through to accreditation.
  • Management and monitoring of the customer hosting and network platforms
  • Managing of software development via a small team and an outsourced service provider
  • Managing a team of application packaging and SCCM specialists

What competencies/ previous experience do you need to be considered for the role of IT Manager?

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships / liaise with other departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Proven line management experience
  • Experience working in a "hands on" IT role with strategy included
  • Extensive IT management experience ideally within a global organisation
