Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer - Reading

Overview-
Are you looking to progress your career in Infrastructure Support?  We are a successful and expanding international IT Services company looking to hire an experienced Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer who is technically strong and passionate about providing excellent customer service. Reporting to the Infrastructure Support Manager, you will be a key member of our internal IT infrastructure team providing technical support and guidance, acting as a point of escalation, for incidents raised by both our external customers and internal ESP staff.  In addition, you’ll be providing consultancy and support to evolve internal / customer infrastructure to ensure system integrity, availability and security is maximised.

What does the role involve?

  • Providing support and technical guidance to the Infrastructure Support Engineers ensuring that incidents can be effectively resolved in line with SLAs
     
  • Resolving all escalated infrastructure technical issues
     
  • Providing recommendations and designs aimed at improving existing infrastructure services both internally and for customers to ensure systems integrity, availability and security
     
  • Providing IT infrastructure solutions consultancy and support as part of any defined business service to our customers
     
  • Maintaining the Asset Management register
     
  • Assisting in the training of other engineers to ensure that knowledge gaps are minimised

What competencies / previous experience do you need to have to be considered?

  • Highly experienced in supporting a Microsoft infrastructure and desktop environment with a strong understanding of the standard core infrastructure tools:

    • Active Directory
    • DNS
    • DHCP

  • MCSA certified
  • Network experience in the day to day management of Routers, Switches and firewalls
  • Proven experience in designing technical solutions
  • Exposure to standard Microsoft toolsets desirable

    • Hyper-V
    • SCCM /SCOM
    • SQL
    • Azure

  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Ability to travel to customer sites when required (occasional)
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills
  • Strong time / project management skills
  • Creative thinking and ability to think outside the box
     

Working Hours-

Monday to Friday, core hours of 09:00 to 17:30
