ESP expands in US market with self-boarding gate installations and support at major airports

ESP Engineers install and provide follow-on support for new gates at JFK, Boston Logan and Fort Lauderdale airports.

Reading, UK, June 2020 -- ESP Global Services Ltd. – a global leader in IT support solutions – has successfully completed the installation of new self-boarding gates at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport in Florida.

ESP engineers successfully completed the installation work and will now work alongside aviation system integrator Collins Aerospace (formerly ARINC) on support and on-going maintenance of the self-boarding gates. This new technology allows airlines to efficiently and automatically check passenger’s credentials at the gate before boarding, with the result of speeding up boarding times for airlines while maintaining high levels of security.

“Our installation and support of self-boarding gates at several major US transport hubs represents a further step into the new North American market for ESP,” said Andy Wilson, Director of Aviation Services at ESP Global Services. “We are taking what we’ve learnt and our expertise in other regions, including Europe and the Asia Pacific, and showing our customers how they can benefit from this in North America.”

As part of its ongoing support and maintenance contract, ESP engineers will ensure that the self-boarding gates at all locations are functioning correctly and any hardware or software issues are identified and fixed in a timely manner. ESP’s comprehensive support package will ensure that operational downtime and service disruption is kept to a minimum at all locations.
